I’ve never had long nails before. My nails would get dirty
and sometimes broken if I hadn’t cut them in a week, so I always cut them
regularly. I always had the same short nails with plain nail polish on. I
actually felt jealous seeing other women with beautiful long nails; how did
they manage to keep the nails clean and strong while growing them?
Two months ago, I finally decided to grow my nails. Well, it wasn’t actually a decision, it was more like a destiny. I lost my nail clippers (yup, more than one). I really had no idea where I put them after the flood, and I didn’t find it necessary to buy a new one. So yeah, I finally grew my nails. It was quite a challenge for me; I had to clean my nail a few times a day, I had to be very careful not to break them, I had to put on nail cream to make them stronger, so complicated
After a month or so, I finally got my long nails. I remember
it was on Valentine’s Day that I decided to get a manicure treatment for the
first time in my life haha. I took a shower and after that I almost cried
because I broke my right thumb nail, WTF!I’d been taking extra care not to break any of my nails, but right on the
day I decided to go to a nail salon, a nail got broken.
But yeah, there’s no point in crying over spoiled milk, or
spoiled nail in this case. I went on with my plan. I went to the nail salon.
There, I looked through various colors and stickers for my nails. After like 15
minutes of thinking, I finally decided to paint my nails light green and added
some leaves and flowers stickers. I know they’re kinda childish, but it’s okay,
I’m a child inside :D
Getting a manicure wasn’t as scary as I thought. It hurt a
little, but not that bad. It took like 5 minutes to clean my cuticle and shape
my nails. And then, the nail art started; base coat, two coats of gel polish,
stickers, and at last top coat (I know these terms because I’d been watching lots
of Nailogical lately hehe). Twenty minutes or so later, it was finally done. My
nails looked kinda cute, although right thumb nail was a disappointment.
Now it’s been almost a month since I got my nails done. The
nail art is still in good condition (thinking of going there again, but 250k
rupiah is quite expensive for me).
And yeah, although having long painted nails makes me feel better,
it’s sometimes inconvenient. It’s harder to do some daily routines like typing,
eating using hand, etc. Maybe I’ll cut them short again soon.
Ada kepuasan sendiri ya buat self love hal kecil seperti ini.
